Irked by the massive rate of poverty ravaging the people of Kogi State, a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Musa Wada said the first thing he will do, if elected as the governor, is to declare Kogi State a state of emergency.
Engr. Wada said that the state of emergency is to enable him embark on a massive poverty project for the people of the state.
He stated that the need to first emancipate Kogites from total abject poverty and penury in the state will be the first priority of his administration.

While addressing the PDP stakeholders and delegates in Ajaokuta, Olamaboro and Omala local government areas of Kogi state, Wada said the present system in the state where the common wealth of the state is in the hands of few is not acceptable and an aberration.
He pointed out that he will put power and the common wealth of the state back into the hands of the people.
According to him, democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people which will be the bedrock of running an all inclusive government.
“Our people in Kogi state deserve more than what they are going through at the moment. We must all come together to make this happen and not just leaving the task for I and my team alone.
“Kogi State in trouble, let save it,” he said.
