Barely few days before the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2019 gubernatorial primary election holds, member representing Okene l State constituency in Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed and his team has endorsed incumbent Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s second term bid.
The endorsement was formally pronounced on Sunday during the Sallah feast organized by Hon. Lawi for his teeming supporters in his residence at Checkpoint, Okene, Kogi State.
In keynote address, Hon. Lawi described Governor Bello as an achiever, a dependable and pragmatic leader. He noted that it was a unanimous decision of him and his supporters to endorse the second term bid of the governor in order to continue with his sound administrative policies that guarantee dividend of democracy.
Continuing, the lawmaker stated that governor Bello’s administration has been progressive, citing his unprecedented achievements to include road infrastructure, youth empowerment, revolution in agriculture, and graduate employment opportunity, including restoration of peace in the state.
“It is our overwhelming resolve to officially endorse Gov. Yahaya Bello as APC candidate for the forthcoming 2019 Kogi State gubernatorial election so that he will continue his massive developmental strides.
“His Excellency has done a lot for youths in Kogi State. We have not had it so good since the existence of the state. His achievements, in all ramifications of governance, are second to none in the area of infrastructure, as many roads have been completed, and others are near completion, especially in the very difficult terrain. Governor Bello is indeed a development master.
“This unanimous endorsement crystallises Governor Bello’s sterling qualities and performance in the last three years. Life is all about reciprocity, therefore, we are giving him the opportunity to do more for us and the entire people of Kogi state by voting massively for him in the coming gubernatorial election in November 16, 2019,” he said.
Hon. Lawi said that Gov. Bello had performed creditably and has kept the peace and unity in line with the political mandate of the people of the state.
The lawmaker urged the people of the state, especially the people of the the central part of the state, to take up the challenge of ensuring the return of Gov. Bello for a second term in office in November.
“Gov. Bello knows what to do at any time. He has respect for elders and I pray God to guide him and anybody that is planning evil against him will not succeed.
“For me and my supporters, we’re solidly behind him. We’re with him spiritually and politically and for you the Ebira people, this is your challenge; take up the challenge,’’ Lawi added.
He urged the people of the state to go all out and support Gov. Bello in the coming elections noting that with the achievements of Gov. Bello’s administration in the past three and half years, he is very optimistic and sure of victory for Gov. Yahaya Adoza Bello in November.
He called on the people to support Gov. Bello and urged them to carry the campaign to the grassroots.
