Kogi Guber: Desist from Acts of Thuggery, FAPA Urge Youths

Forum of Ankpa Peoples Association has admonished youth in Kogi State not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs by desperate politicians who have predilection for political violence to achieve their greedy, selfish and parochial agenda.

The youths were advised to desist from acts of thuggery before, during and after the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State.

The advise was given on Saturday by the Chairman of the Forum of Ankpa People’s Association (FAPA), Comrade Neziru Hussein Ubelle during the monthly meeting of the Forum.

“As you all know, Kogi State Governorship election is fast approaching and many desperate politicians are furiously beating the drum of bellicosity for their selfish and personal aggrandizement. It is important we advise ourselves that we should not allow to be used as elements to cause political and social upheaval, politics is expected to give rise to welfare and not warfare.

“We have to think deeply and be law abiding citizens. As youths who key to a new order in the next generation devolves on, what we deserve from our leaders and politicians is to empower us positively to create leaders out us, leaders that will be knowledgeable and selfless and not to arm us to ruin our future.

“Please, let us not be enticed and deceived by tokens from these politician to jeopardize our future,” he said.

FAPA is an Association of all youth clubs and organisations in Ankpa local government that sensitize, educate and enlighten the youth on the danger of drug abuse, cultism, kidnapping, thuggery and the need to eschew these and other social vices.
