Wife of an APC governorship aspirant in Kogi, Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, has alleged that governorship candidates for the November 16 election in the state are preparing for war and not election.

Princess Audu further alleged that there is an ongoing stockpiling of weapons ahead of the poll, although she didn’t state the source of her information.

She said she would mobilise mothers of political thugs in all parts of the state to ensure the elections are held without any violence.

According to her, she has concluded plans to lead a delegation of women to man all polling units in the state.

“All the candidates who are running for the Kogi governorship election are acting more like they are preparing for war than campaigning for the poll.

“If you are campaigning to govern the state, you will be going out to woo the voters, pacify them and what have you but they (candidates) are buying bulletproof cars and all sorts of arms and ammunition,” she said.

She also called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the situation.

Similarly, the deputy national publicity secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, has joined traditional rulers in Bayelsa state in raising alarm over weapons being stockpiled in the state ahead of the November 16 governorship election.

The APC deputy spokesman alleged that the state is being turned into a war zone ahead of the election, accusing Governor Seriake Dickson of masterminding violence in preparation for the polls.
