The Nigeria Institute of Management has been assured of the support and cooperation of the state government pursuant to achieving its lofty objectives.
The Head of Civil Service, Dr Moses Atakpa made this statement in his office when the institute, Kogi State chapter, led by its chairman Mr. Pius Ikubaje paid him a working visit along with the State Executive Members.
The Head of Civil Service said he is proud to be a member of the institute which he described as the citadel of management corporate body being the oldest Management Regulatory Professional Institute in Nigeria.
The Head of Civil Service advised the Institute to use every available channel to elicit viable interest among Management Practitioners who are yet to register and promised to participate in all the activities of the Institute including financial contribution and attendance at meetings.
Earlier, the State Chairman Mr. Pius Ikubaje said that their visit to the Head of Civil Service was not only meant to brief him of the programmes and activities of the Institute being a major pillar of the body but also to inform him of the forthcoming activities of the Institute which include a summit for members of the North Central Zone as well as an investiture and award of fellowships to deserving members of the institute which is expected to take place in Abuja.
The Chairman appreciated the support of Governor Idris Wada and the Deputy Governor Yomi Awoniyi who is a fellow of the Institute as well as Members for their support at any moment of challenges.
Similarly, the Executive members of the Senior Staff Association of Polytechnic, Kogi State Polytechnic have been advised to adopt the tool of peaceful industrial dialogue in their negotiation with Government.
The Head of Civil Service made this plea when the newly inaugurated members led by comrade John Otaru paid him a courtesy call.
He promised to address the issues raised at the meeting with uttermost attention they deserved.
He implored the association to be supportive and co-operate with the Government of Capt. Idris Wada in his transformation agenda which also include improved welfare for the members of the organised unions in the state.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the association had earlier enjoined the state government to address pertinent issues that have direct bearing on the welfare of members which include, cash- backing of promotion, car refurbishing loan, leave allowance, migration allowance and housing among others, for their members.
