Kogi Govt to Carry Out Palliative Measures on Shintaku-Oguma Road

Kogi state government is set to carry out palliative works on Shintaku – Oguma road in order to ameliorate the sufferings of the Bassa people.

Commiserating with the family of the late Kogi newspaper corporation staff, Pastor Simon Mejida Wallah at Tawana town in Bassa local government area on Friday, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Kingsley Fanwo said he will liaise with his counterpart in the ministry of Works and Housing to ensure Governor Yahaya Bello gives attention to the road.

Fanwo noted that the late Wallah was a dedicated staff member of The Graphic newspaper who in the past had received three awards as the best Kogi civil servant of the year.

He maintained that Wallah has contributed immensely to the development of Kogi state through his hard work. He added that the hardworking Bassa people have continued to add value to Kogi state hence the Shintaku -Oguma road deserve greater attention.

The commissioner also said he will plead with Governor Bello to ensure that one of the structures in The Graphic newspaper is named after the late Wallah. He said the essence is to immortalize late Wallah’s legacies to Kogi state government.

The Managing Director of The Graphic newspaper, Pastor Dayo Thomas said late Pastor Simon Mejida Wallah was a rare staff member of the corporation.

He prayed God to keep the family members he left behind.

First daughter of the deceased, Deborah Wallah thanked the commissioner and his entourage for gracing the burial of her late father.
