Kogi Govt Spends N55m on Provision of Boreholes, Transformers

The Kogi State government said yesterday that it has spent N55 million on the provision of motorised boreholes and transformers in seven communities across four local governments of the state.

The state’s Commissioner for Rural Development Alhaji Mohammed Ada  Umoru, who  disclosed this to journalists in Lokoja said Odu Ochele, Odu Ofomu and Odu Ogboyaga communities in Dekina Local Government Area benefited from the project.

According to him, other communities are Imela cassava processing centre at Yagba-East Local Government, Ogga community in Yagba-West Local Government and Takete-Ide community in Mopa-Muro Local Government.

He said each of  the motorised boreholes were fitted with 20,000-litre capacity  overhead tank and 30kva power generating set, adding that the water facilities were also reticulated  in strategic areas for easy access by residents.
