Kogi Govt. Promises to Sustain Support for Flood Victims

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr Sanusi Yahaya, on Sunday reaffirmed its assurance to support the victims of flood across the state.
Yahaya gave the assurance when he visited one of the flood victims, Mrs Mariam Haruna, who gave birth at The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Maternity Clinic in Lokoja.
The commissioner said that the state government assisted Mrs Haruna, a flood victim, accommodated at one of the IDP camps in Lokoja, by settling her medical bills after child birth.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Gov. Yahaya Bello’s Administration to the wellbeing of the people in the state, saying, Kogi Government is bent on doing everything possible within its capacity to assist flood victims.
He commended the governor for supporting the flood victims, saying his assistance and that of the Federal government has made the displaced persons secured temporary accommodation in the IDP camps across the state.
A Senior Nurse with the Redeemed Christian Church Maternity Clinic, where the delivery took place, Mrs Elizabeth Akanbi, thanked the State Government for settling the woman’s Medical bills.
Akanbi, however, made a cash donation to the woman to support the baby’s upkeep on behalf of the Hospital Management.
Haruna, who was overwhelmed with joy by the gesture, expressed her deep appreciation to the government for coming to her rescue, and thanked the hospital management for the moral and financial support.
