The Kogi State Government has announced the indefinite suspension of all state-organised examinations in the State.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Lokoja.

The state government had earlier released timetables for the exams, with the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled to commence from September 28 to October 7, 2020, Common Entrance Examination (CEE) on October 17, and the Basic Six Examination (FSLCE) on October 13, 2020.

Idenyi, in the statement, said the decision to suspend the internal examinations was reached after series of engagements with relevant stakeholders in the State.

According to the Permanent Secretary, all concerns and exigencies raised at the meeting would be harmonized before new dates would be announced and revised timetables for the examinations released.

Idenyi however regretted the unforeseen development, assuring that the Ministry would soon come out with a position that would be convenient and acceptable to all.
