Kogi State Government says it is resolute in resuscitating the abandoned Cassava Processing Plant in Ijumu LGA of the state.
Towards ensuring that the project takes off in good time, the State Government says it has approved the electrification of the community where the project is to be located.
Capt. Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor stated this when he received the Nigerian Representative of Korean International Cooperative Agency (KOICA), who were in the State to seek ways of cooperation.
Represented by Yomi Awoniyi, State Deputy Governor, Wada disclosed that his commitment to resuscitating the completion of the Cassava Processing Plant stems from the fact that it is a major product in the transformation agenda in the Agricultural project of his administration.
Capt. Idris Wada, assured that necessary incentives to support and encourage the Agricultural sector has been put in place by his administration to ensure the realisation of the objectives of his transformation agenda.
The State Governor, thanked the support of the Korean Government to the State in the educational sector in its building of a Vocational Training Centre at the State Polytechnic, donation of Rice Milling Machine to the State, solicited for more areas of partnership from the Korean Government.
Earlier in his speech, Jung Sang Hoon, Chief Representative of Korean International Cooperative Agency (KOICA), in Nigerian, said the strategic location of the State places it at a vantage, assured of the cooperation’s support in resuscitating the Cassava Processing Plant at Ijumu and the completion of the Vocational Training Centre at the
State Polytechnic.
He promised to carry out maintenance training for the Cassava Processing Plant as well as operate and manage the Vocational Training Centre for sustainability when completed.
