Kogi Govt Mourns Passing of Former State Auditor General, Alh Nasiru Soso

Kogi State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a former Chairman of Okene Local Government Council and a former Auditor General of the state, Alhaji Nasiru Soso.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, the government paid glowing tribute to the late Alhaji Soso, describing him as a political colossus, a dedicated public servant, and a tireless advocate for peace, unity, and development.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo described the departed hero as “an astute community leader, development enthusiast and an advocate of peace and unity who will be greatly missed by the people of the state.”

He praised Alhaji Soso’s enduring legacy, noting that his contributions to governance and community development left a mark that will outlive him.

“He was a voice of wisdom and moderation, always willing to offer his support for the progress of the state. His death is not just a loss to Okene, but to the entire Kogi family,” he stated.

Hon. Fanwo also noted that Alhaji Soso’s tenure as Council Chairman was distinguished by transformational initiatives that endeared him to the people. “Even after leaving public office, he remained actively involved in the affairs of the state, lending his experience and wise counsel to successive administrations.”

The state government emphasized that his passing comes at a time when all patriots are uniting to drive development across the state, making his absence all the more painful.

“His legacy of selfless service, commitment to the people, and his unshakable belief in a united and progressive Kogi will continue to inspire us,” the statement added.

The government extended its heartfelt condolences to his family, the people of Okene Local Government Area, and all Kogites, praying for the repose of his soul and for divine comfort to those he left behind.
