Governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Idoko Ilonah has charged youths to take make their voices and votes count in the forthcoming Kogi gubernatorial election.
The APGA governorship candidate gave the charge while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
Ilonah noted that youths’ conscious and active involvement in the forthcoming election will go along way in changing the narrative for good as far development and progress of Kogi state is concerned.
He further asserted that, to give room for purposeful and credible leadership in the state, the youth must rise up to the occasion, sensitize the grassroots on the very reason why they must participate in the electoral process come November 11, 2023.
“Our lives affairs are all connected to how leaders we elect or refused to partake in the processes of their emergence handle issues of governance,” he said.
He equally reiterated that the type of leader the people elect is the exact government they will get as far as dividends of democracy is concerned.
On election violence, the suave signage guru appealed to the youths to shun thuggery, and all manner violence, adding that elections shouldn’t be seen as war.
