Kogi Gov’ship: Samari Shehu Political Movement Unveils Support Group for Ododo/Oyibo

Ahead of the November governorship election in Kogi State, the Samari Shehu Political Movement has unveiled her support groups which marks the official declaration of support for the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Usman Ododo and his running mate, Joel Salifu Oyibo.

The unveiling took place at the Onyukoko Ward, Okene over the weekend.

Dignitaries present at the event included; Kogi Central APC Zonal Chairman, Muazu Salihu Onimoku; Ward Chairman of Onyukoko, Abdulsalam Anda; Youth Leader of Onyukoko, Obongara; Councillor of Onyukoko Ward, Hon. Rudiyat; Director General Ododo Ebigo Connect, Abdulganiu Okaraga; former S.A to House of Assembly Okene 1, Hon. Abdulhameed (A.A Okene); Director General of Ohere Political Vanguard, Prof. Solomon Avidime; Secretary of CWC GYB/Ododo, Comr. Suleiman Ohimozi and his team; Coordinator of Ododo Mandate Steering Committee, Engr. Muhammed Ohieku and his entourage as well as leaders of various forums respectively.

The central theme of the event focused on the sensitization of voters on the need to join the Ododo project, registration and transfer of permanent voters cards (PVC). Ward executives, leaders of support groups and party faithful who graced the occasion gave brief remarks which steered the course of the movement and increase the enthusiasm of grassroot mobilizers.

At the opening of the event, the Ward Chairman, Abdulsalam Anda underscores the efforts of the Convener of the Support Group, Samari Shehu by kick-starting his movement from his home town which he describe as  “A man who knows his root and understand that charity begins from home.”

He also highlighted some of the challenges confronted with Onyukoko Ward and called on the State government to address them respectively. This was followed by the Youth Leader and Councillor of Onyukoko Ward who also recognized the efforts of the convener of the support group.

Invited guests were also not left out as they gave resounding remarks which was in a way of responding and contributing to the theme of the event.

The Secretary CWC GYB/Ododo, Comr. Suleiman Ohimozi admonished on the need for all forum to unify and key into the party structure at the ward level in other to work in unison to deliver the Ododo/Oyibo mandate come November 11, 2023.

He also used the medium to discard the rumour going round that forum of various endeavors has been disbanded by the Kogi APC State Working Committee. 

Speaking at the event, D.G of Ododo Mandate Steering Committee, Engr. Muhammed Ohieku, mandated the Convener of Samari Shehu Political Movement for Ododo to engage in a door to door campaign in a way of reaching out to the people to preach the gospel Ododoism.

Director General Ododo Ebigo Connect, Abdulganiu Okaraga also recognized the efforts of the organizer of the event, Samari Shehu and emphasized the need for people to join the course of delivering Ododo/Oyibo mandate.

Former S.A to the House of Assembly Okene 1 who is also one of the disciples of political icon in Ebiraland Sen. A.T Ahmed and siamese twin to Samari Shehu, the Convener of Samari Shehu Political Movement for Ododo, showered praises and encomium on him and stressed out that he is not in doubt of his capacity to galvanize people that will translate to a resounding victory to Ododo/Oyibo in the forthcoming governorship poll at his Ward.

Kogi Central APC Zonal Chairman, Muazu Salihu Onimoku in his brief remarks expressed his gratitude to the organizer of the event, Samari Shehu, on the footprint he has laid by beginning his grassroot campaign from his Ward. He described him as “Small but mighty.”

He went further to expatiate the capacity of the Convener of the movement by going down the memory lane of his political journey right from the days in the University to when he has served as an executive members of support groups.

Director-General Ohere Political Vanguard, Prof. Solomon Avidime admonished on the need for everyone to get involved in delivering the Ododo/Oyibo mandate.

After the event, the support group paid a courtesy call on the Ohi of Okene, HRH. Alh. Mamman Onimisi at his palace for royal blessing.
