A youth group in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi Democratic Youths have endorsed the governorship aspirations of Dr. Victor Adoji.
In a press statement issued after the group’s meeting in Lokoja on Sunday, the youths said they arrived at the decision after due considerations and careful study of his rich profile and antecedent.
Spokesman of the group, John Adeyemi, explained that it is obvious that Adoji has what it take to rescue the state from the present occupier of Lugard House.
“Kogi State is presently under the siege of the APC- led administration of Yahaya Bello and we are in dire need of a strong-willed, intelligent and visionary personality who is imbued with character and integrity to rescue the state.
“Our group decided to support Victor Adoji’s governorship aspiration to rescue the state from rot and decadence based on his enviable tract records in both private and organised establishment that has tremendously impacted on the lives of the people.
“It will be suicidal for the people of Kogi State to allow Bello to rule the state for another 4years. Our members have resolved to mobilize delegates across the 21 local government areas in the state for him to emerge winner at the PDP primaries,” he said.
According to Adeyemi, Dr. Adoji is a pragmatic and hardworking leader who has used his wealth and positions in life to better the lives of those who come across him in life.
“Kogi State is a state described by many as a confluence of resources and opportunities given its rich economic potentials and abundant natural resources, but that it is regrettable that these endowments have not translated into improved welfare of the citizens.
“Kogi State is daily in the news for simple reason of bad governance and other negative stories. The alarming cases of deaths recorded among workers and pensioners in recent time due to non payment of salaries and pensions for months, insecurity and dwindling economic fortunes in the state is unacceptable.
“It therefore important that we bring a man with experience, capacity and ability to take the state to eldorado. Dr. Victor Adoji is a very dynamic, energetic and visionary personality. He is a man of purpose, vision, strength and character. A thinker and articulate leader well equipped with experience capacity, and the ability to turn the fortune of the state around for good.”
