Ahead of November 11 governorship election in Kogi state, the Olori Esther Movement has continued to galvalnize support for the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Leke Abejide.
Coordinator of the group, Rasheedat Taiwo Oseni, said the movement has toured Federal Polytechnic Offa in Kwara state, Nasarawa State University Keffi as well as University of Abuja.
Oseni noted that the movement engaged students of these institutions in constructive dialogue, highlighting specific reasons why they believe Hon. Leke Abejide is the most suitable choice for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi state.
“The tours were concerted effort to mobilize and engage the youth of Kogi State in the upcoming gubernatorial election on November 11, 2023. The movement is commitment to empowering the next generation and fostering positive change in Kogi state.
“Few days ago, the Olori Esther Youth Movement took their campaign to the University of Abuja, reaching out to students and youth of Kogi State extraction. The primary objective of this event was to provide insight into Hon. Leke Abejide’s ambitious plans for Kogi State’s future,” she explained.
The movement stressed that Hon. Leke Abejide has a strong commitment to enhancing the educational sector. They elaborated on his proposed policies and plans to improve infrastructure, increase educational funding, and provide more opportunities for students in Kogi state.

Oseni added that the movement passionately discussed Abejide’s vision for youth empowerment. We pointed out that he has articulated comprehensive programs aimed at creating jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, and empowering the youth, thus offering a brighter future for the younger generation.
“On economic prosperity, Abejide’s economic plans, including attracting investments, promoting small and medium-sized enterprises, and supporting industries are expected to contribute to economic growth and stability of Kogi state.
The students were reminded that Hon. Leke Abejide has maintained a spotless record in terms of corruption. His integrity and dedication to transparent governance are qualities that resonate with many voters who seek a leader they can trust.
The youth movement celebrated Hon. Leke Abejide’s past contributions to the educational sector, such as his support for scholarships, the development of educational infrastructure, and his role in facilitating partnerships that have benefited educational institutions.

During the event at the University of Abuja, students were given the opportunity to voice their concerns, ask questions, and pledge their support for Hon. Leke Abejide’s gubernatorial aspiration. This interactive session allowed for a direct exchange of ideas and reinforced the commitment of the Olori Esther Youth Movement to ensure that the youth of Kogi State are actively engaged in the political process.
During a spirited campaign event, students at the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State were given a platform to express their enthusiasm and endorse Hon. Leke Abejide’s candidacy.
The students offering heartfelt prayers for Hon. Leke Abejide’s candidacy, invoking hope for a brighter future. The students pledged their commitment to return home and actively participate in the electoral process by casting their votes for him come November 11, 2023.
Oseni explained that the movement seeks to connect with students and youth across the northern part of the country who have roots in Kogi.
“Our goal is to encourage these individuals to return to Kogi State and cast their votes for Hon. Leke Abejide, who they believe will bring about the positive change and progress the state deserves,” she said.
