The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Mubarak Musa on Sunday met with the State Executive of Inter Party Advisory Council, (IPAC) ahead of the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state.
The NNPP governorship candidate was warmly received by the IPAC Executive in Kogi State rolled out his agenda for electorates if elected as the next Governor to succeed the present administration.
While addressing the IPAC Executives which consist of different political parties, Mubarak appealed to them to look at competency and credibility of any candidate before they would give their maximum support before the polls.
The governorship hopeful who believes he is the right personĀ to fill the vacancy in Lugard house said his track records in term of entrepreneurship, human, infrastructural, and capitalĀ development speaks volumes within and outside the state, stressing that they should look beyond party, or ethnic lines to support a candidate who has the mindset to change the fortunes of Kogi state.
He urged the party stakeholders to look at his credentials and manifesto that is in tandem with demands of Kogites who are all yearning for good governance.
He reiterated that, if given the mandate to pilot the affair of Kogi State, his administration will run an all inclusive government that is devoid of sentiment, to move the state forward.
Mubarak, however, appealed to his supporters to always remain calm by maintaining peace before, during and after the election.
Also speaking, the Campaign Director General of the NNPP governorship candidate, Hon. Ademu Eneape said Kogites should not loose the opportunity of electing a man who is committed to render selfless service to his people.
According to Eneape, his principal has lined up various programmes that would be executed to ensure that the people of Kogi feel the complete dividend of democracy down to the grassroot.
While welcoming the August visitors to his office, the Kogi State Chairman, Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Hon. Musa Ukwenya tasked the NNPP governorship candidate to remain focused on issue based campaign, and avoid campaign of calumny, adding that hate speech, promotion of violence is not the way forward in any democratic setting.
The IPAC State Chairman, however, condemned the fracas that ensued between supporters of NNPP and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) at the unity house in Anyigba.
According to him, all candidates should be given the opportunity to express themselves on what they intends to offer for the people of Kogi state if elected come November 2023.
Adding his voice, IPAC Public Relations Officer ,Comrade Mohammed Kabir said the body remains committed towards the actualization of Kogi State of our dream.
He maintained that Kogi state has abundant mineral and natural resources, stressing that the state needs who can tap into these resources, that will bring meaningful development to the Confluence State.
