In a consensus arrangement, the finality and acceptability of the process is when individual candidates of other political parties voluntarily step down their ambitions by appending their signatures to a consensus agreement.
From the scenarios that played out from Alhaji Muritala Ajaka and his “very wise” team of consensus professionals, they fail to produce a consensus agreement from the various candidates even though they may claim to have the paid endorsement of the purported “consensus commitee” which does not translate or add value to the quest of obtaining a political advantage from the east towards the November 11, 2023 governorship elections in Kogi State.
This very desperate act of Alhaji Muritala Ajaka and his “consensus professionals” has further complicated the process of producing a genuine and acceptable consensus candidate from the east, turning the process into a jamboree and making mockery of all of us from the east before the eyes of other zones.
Of great surprise to me, is how Alhaji Hassan Enape and Dr Sule Odoma constituted themselves into the political leadership and authority of Kogi east to endorse a consensus candidate. Who gave them such powers?
The next that would likely follow from a desperate Muritala Ajaka and his “very wise” team of consensus professionals is the blackmail of other candidates. This would greatly affect negatively the overall interest of the east and further put our quest for an eastern governor in grave jeopardy. What a travesty.
However, let me congratulate our 7 star “consensus candidate of the east” Alhaji Muritala Ajaka even though without a verifiable Political Party as he is still a member of the NWC of the APC.
