The Mega Party Nigeria (MPN), Kogi State chapter on Sunday conducted its primary, ahead of the November 16, state governorship election.
Methuselah Gallio Alonge emerged as the party’s flag bearer at the end of the exercise which had representatives of INEC and the DSS, among others.
Alonge emerged unopposed at the MPN congress which held at the IPAC secretariat, in Lokoja, the state capital.
The party in a statement said that the governorship primary was anchored by the chairman of the state chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Him. Iliyas Badanga.
According to the statement: “The gubernatorial primary election which was conducted peacefully, orderly and without rancour, was witnessed by men of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), that of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and newsmen.
“At the end of the event, the gubernatorial primary election, by consensus, produced Methuselah Gallio Alonge (unopposed) as the party’s governorship flag bearer”.
Confirming the Kogi MPN shadow election, the Director Education and Public Affairs, Kogi INEC, Ahmed Biambo said two of the commission’s staff, one from the state and another from the headquarters in Abuja, were present to witness the exercise.
