Governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Kogi state, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, has promised to secure the state, when elected.
Speaking with our reporter, Braimoh noted that there is a nexus between prosperity and security, adding that his wealth creation agenda will solve security concerns in Kogi state.
Braimoh said his STAT Agenda will ensure financial and food security. He asserted that poverty breeds violence and insecurity.
“You look at Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, they prosperous and peaceful nations. So, when you think about Yemen, Afghanistan, you see the challenges confronting poor nations with history of violence and insecurity.
“For us in Kogi state, what our STAT Agenda will achieve for us is food security and financial security. When our people are busy making money, they will not have time for violence or crime.
“Nordic countries have near zero percent crime rate because they are prosperous countries.
“When we drive in cash flow into our economy, our people are prosperous, they will be secured.
“Solution to our security problem is for us to be able to create wealth for our people. And our people will become secured,” he said.
Braimoh explained that through regenerative agriculture, his administration will be able to secure the people.
“The herders/farmers crisis is a fight for survival. And it is a resource problem. The herder is looking for food for his herd, the farmer is looking for food for his family to survive.
“With regenerative agriculture, we will train our people, bridge the knowledge gap such that both farmers and herders will be able to achieve than what they are getting currently.”
