An elder statesman, Prof. Omeiza Aliyu, has called on the people of Kogi Central senatorial district to support the rotation of the state governorship seat to the western axis of the state.
Prof. Aliyu made the call during a courtesy visit by the governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Leke Abejide, and his running mate, Dr. Idris Omede to the Ohinoyi of Ebira land in Okene on Friday.
He stated that Ebira people of Kogi Central are not greedy and will support their neighbours in the western senatorial district to ensure equity and fairness.
According to Prof. Omeiza Aliyu, “the people of Kogi West played a major role in achieving the rotation of power to Kogi Central, they also supported the present government for 8 years, and now it is the time for Kogi West to become the governor of Kogi.”
“We have a good candidate that I strongly believe can perform well, Hon. Leke Abejide and his Deputy governorship candidate Dr Idris Omede from Dekina local government area of Kogi East which is very close to our hearts. Dekina is the largest LGA in Kogi East.
“I am saying this because of what is going on in the state, people are saying how can you support someone from the West when our son is also in the race. I want to say unequivocally that the people of Ebira are not selfish, we are not greedy people, we are peace-loving people who believe in equity.”
Prof. Aliyu appealed to the people of Kogi Central through His Royal Majesty Dr Ado Ibrahim the Ohinoyi of Ebira land that the people of Kogi Central should jointly support the candidacy of Hon. Leke Abejide and his Deputy Dr Omede in the interest of Kogi State and for the development of the people to promote fairness, justice and equity in the state.
