Kogi state governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Idoko Kingsley Ilonah, has expressed confidence that his party would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the November 11, 2023 polls.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, Ilonah said both APC and PDP are not a threat to APGA’s chances of winning the governorship election.

He said APGA would monitor the activities of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the election was transparent and the electoral laws not violated.

Ilonah vowed that APGA would resist any attempt by the APC, PDP or any other political party to rig the election.

“The APC and PDP are not a threat to us despite their long existence in the state. I am not desperate to be governor, but I am desperate for quality leadership in Kogi State. Power comes from God.

“We won’t be intimidated; the election must be free, fair and credible. Governor Yahaya Bello should discourage violence in the state. I am not hungry but this is a sacrifice for me. No one has the monopoly of violence. But we should stop preaching violence in politics,” he said.

Ilonah urged Governor Yahaya Bello to take a stand against violence in the state.
