The All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Kogi State has debunked the widespread rumour making rounds that the Director-General of the council, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, was distributing recharge cards that will automatically deactivate permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) of beneficiaries.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the campaign spokesman, Kingsley Fanwo, described the allegations as “ludicrous and mentally indolent”.

Fanwo, who accused opposition of unbridled propaganda, said their intent is to create panic, spread falsehood and make it look like Kogi is at war.

“They know they can’t win any election here because the people of Kogi State know the leaders they trust. Our Director General, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has a reputation of transparency and respect for the rule of law.

“He possesses a capacity to be trusted and followed by the people. He does not need to contemplate any foul means of winning election when his pedigree, antecedents, track record and family background place him on a comfortable pedestal to ensure his people remain with the party that has served them so well and that will do better and more for the people at all levels,” he said.

Fanwo called on the people to disregard the figment of the imagination of the scripters of the fiction, stressing that APC will win a free, fair and credible election on November 11.
