The Chairman of Kabbaa/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency Elder’s Advisory Council to Kogi State Governor, Chief Matthew Olorunshaiye has described Governor Yahaya Bello of All Progressives Congress (APC) as the candidate to beat in the November 16 governorship poll in the state, adding that the choice of Chief Edward Onoja as his running mate was a perfect choice, combination and match.
Chief Matthew Olorunshaiye who made this known to newsmen in Kabba last weekend, described Governor Bello as an inspiring leader and his Chief of Staff who is now his running mate as an epitome of loyalty.
According to him, Governor Bello is an embodiment of humility and an ardent believer in the power of the people and democracy, noting that these attributes have endeared him to the mass of the electorate who are sure to cast their votes en mass for him in the coming poll.
He said that for the first time in history of the 28- year old state, the people have a governor who is prudent in the use of resources and also has the political will to execute people-oriented projects which have direct bearing on the lives of the people and changed the narrative of the state to a better one.
He averred that Governor Bello’s dedication to good governance has led to the reduction of unemployment and youths restiveness, pointing out that these achievements have won accolades for the Governor from friends and foes.
While mentioning the governor’s achievements in the security, agriculture, traditional institution, civil service sectors and others, he urged the electorate to give the governor another term to consolidate on the good works he started.
Chief Olorunshaiye who vowed to work assiduously with others for the governor’s reelection, congratulated him on making the right choice in Edward Onoja as his running mate, saying it was the reward for total loyalty, adding that Onoja has been tested with a little responsibility but he performed beyond expectation and he would do more with a bigger responsibility.
He appreciated the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole for his loyalty and support towards the successes being recorded by the APC- led administration in the state.
He reiterated calls on the electorate to invest in the reelection of Governor Bello by voting en mass for APC so as reap bountifully from his second term in office.
