Governor Yahaya Bello has approved the commencement of health insurance scheme for all civil servants in the state.
Governor Bello gave the approval after the presentation of the benefit package of the scheme by the Executive Secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare at the state executive council meeting held in Lokoja.
The governor said he has full confidence on Dr Aledare in piloting the affairs of the agency.
He maintained that the scheme will go a long way in reducing out of pocket expenditure of Kogi state civil servants.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Health, Dr Haruna Saka thanked the governor for establishing the agency. He added that the governor has continued to give priority attention to the health needs of the entire state electorate.
In his presentation, the executive secretary of the agency, Dr Adekunle Aledare said civil servants and Kogi residents stand the chance of accessing medical care in critical financial times.
He thanked Governor Bello of giving him the opportunity to head the agency.
