I am deeply worried that leaders in Kogi West and Central are badly divided on the issue of power shift in the coming governorship elections in Kogi State. But despite the sharp division, I want to advise political leaders in strong terms, DO NOT DISAPPOINT THE MASSES. The masses in these districts are resolute in their determination to make a difference in the forthcoming governorship elections.

First, I must commend leaders like distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, Dr. Tom Ohikere, Senator Salihu Ohize, Professor Yusuf Aliyu, Professor Lambo, Dr Tom Adaba and a host of other patriotic leaders for being in the frontline of sincere agitation for equity and justice in Kogi State. God will reward your labour of love.

Secondly, I want to alert the good people of Kogi central and west that our in-house enemies are at work again. They are spending their ill-gotten wealth to lobby for deputy governorship slot and return to senate through the back door. As events unfold, we will unmask these traitors one by one without fear or favour.

Kindly note that instead of sponsoring an Okun, Ebira, Kakanda, Oworo, Ebira-Koto, Nupe or Bassa man for governorship, our well known prodigal sons,  Jide Omokore and Smart Adeyemi are currently bankrolling one Jibrin Isah Echocho’s campaign for governorship. This is not new to us. After the 2011 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary that dubiously produced Echocho against the peoples’ choice, Isah Kutepa, our son, Smart Adeyemi abandoned our agitation and queued behind Echocho whom we learnt promised him 3rd term ticket in Senate. Funnily, Smart still got the ticket but lost scandalously at the polls. Okun people are still rejoicing over his defeat.

Our prodigal sons, Omokore and Smart, were the brains behind the rumour that Echocho will be contesting under the platform of Accord party with Samuel Bamidele Aro as his running mate. Their greek gift to Sam Aro was rescinded after Smart’s petition at the tribunal was creditably dismissed. Up until then, all Echocho’s billboards, posters are all without party affiliation but distinctly designed using Accord Party’s colours.

The tribunal shock made these guys change their antics. They have approached the national leadership of PDP with huge sums and promises of patronage to hijack the party structures from the incumbent Gov Wada to afford them use PDP platform for Echocho. They will likely win this battle as much money has been allocated for the National leaders of the now broke PDP. This is funny though, as the average Kogite is anxiously waiting to rid the state of PDP at all cost come October 2015. Wada or Echocho, Kogi will not be in opposition come October 2015.

The prodigal sons are looking for a opportunity to bounce back to limelight after defeat but one thing they do not realise yet is that it was not just the people that rejected them but God as well.

I was attacked severally when I wrote repeatedly on the ungodly third term ambition of Smart Adeyemi but today, I am justified. I will not relent from now till God’s will is done on Kogi state come October 2015.

To the true leaders agitating for power shift, watch out for these prodigal sons! This is a humble advice. They are good at sabotaging peoples’ efforts with their cunning approach and inducements. They will readily betray us for a plate of rice and beans garnished with dodo.

The masses are fully ready to come out enmass and vote for power shift, please, insulate our land from the avarice of these prodigal sons. We know them, we have rejected them and God is against them. This is our chance, let’s grab it with both hands!
