Two weeks after primary election, PDP in Kogi state is yet to engage in reconciliation, despite complains. Engr. Musa Wada must be properly managed.
I strongly condemned the court case initiated by a former governorship aspirant in the party, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Idris (Abu Ibro). If Engineer Musa Wada stormed Abu Ibro’s house, will Wada send him back? But before we crucify Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, I think it’s normal and necessary we examine the other side; we can not throw away dirty bath water with the baby.
PDP in Kogi state is always charaterized with post primary crisis and poor management. This has always made the party to constitute a credible working committee to ensure victory, dis-regarding personal interests. All these are the weak points of the party some time, yet the leaders are not doing anything right to overcome this monster within the famous party faithfuls.
Most of the supports the party aspirants are enjoying today is from personal conviction of the G12 members, not efforts of the candidates. The truth must be told. The formula that wins primary can’t be the same for the general election.
It is now time for the party’s prominent leaders, at the national level and in the state, to put aside differences and personal interest and work together to save the long suffering people of Kogi state from the hands of the devilish, hard-hearted APC led government of Gov. Yahaya Bello (GYB).
For every election, there must some crisis here and there and that is normal, but how to manage it matter most. Despite injustice and corrupt practices that charaterized the APC primary in Kogi state, the party seems to be curtailing the internal crisis compared to the PDP that conducted one of the most credible primaries from the accreditation process till the time it was disrupted by gunmen.
Forget the theory that the shooter is an insider, it is a mere excuses. The real essence of the gunshots is for the party to encounter problems in the course of conducting primary election and that is what is manifesting today.
While blaming Abubakar Ibrahim Idris and his team for going to court, I think Engineer Musa Wada and his team also need to belt up, not invite the masses to meet them at their comfort zone. They should leave their comfort zone and meet the demand of the masses.
Saying the whole situation is not mis managed will amount to being economical with the truth. However, my findings reveals that there was never an attempt to meet Abubakar Ibrahim Idris in person till this very write up and that is the part of mis-managements I am talking about.
Abubakar Ibrahim Idris is independent of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris. We can’t judge him with the same measurements we used on his father.
There is a lot of complains not only from Abubakar Ibrahim Idris team, the rejection of senator Dino Melaye is an indication that all is not well with the party prominent leaders. Good to know that Engineer Musa Wada is still enjoying the good will, but, how long will this continue?
Kogi political structure is a very critical one. Kogites hates subjugation and lordship. Engineer Musa Wada must not under estimate the power “Thank You Tour”. He must not allow the euphoria of his primary victory die down. It’s time he steps out of Summerset Hotel and embark on this vital visitation.
I am putting this down because of volume of information at my disposal. The time spent in Abuja would have achieved this “Thank you tour”. As a matter of urgency, he needs to move out of his comfort zone and embark on this “TOUR”” right now.
Playing Into Bello’s Hands
All GYB wanted is this crack in the wall of PDP to enable him penetrate. Though we can’t blame him for this but we are playing into his hands already as people and some are getting depressed and demoralized. There is a disconnection between the leaders and the grass roots as majority of the leaders don’t even have direct access to the candidate.
Way Out
Engineer Musa Wada must wake up from celebrating party primary, step out of his comfort zone and embark on personal efforts as the PDP in the state don’t have what it takes to deliver him in the coming election but the masses can.
It took PDP two weeks to get a campaign DG with 59 days to the general election. GYB is penetrating into the camp of Kogi West with the message of handing over to the West after the completion of his second term.
The message seems resonating and sinking. The power that be in West ordinarily wanted Captain Idris Wada because of the power of one term. The West of course wants power considering the fact that the Ebira have tasted it. Now that it is not Captain Wada but Engineer Musa Wada, the political strategy has to be reviewed urgently and get more experienced people with competent hands needed instead of exclusive campaign.
The time to Act fast is now!!!
