Kogi First Lady, Mimiko to Deliver Keynotes at Face of Trek Africa 2018

Former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and the First Lady of Kogi state, Mrs. Amina Yahaya Bello have been selected to deliver keynote addresses at this year’s edition of Face of Trek Africa (FOTA) beauty pageant.

The organiser and Project Director of McKinggs Media, Mr. Oki Samson, disclosed this via a statement released to newsmen in Lagos.

He said the theme of the event: “The African woman, her imprint on governance and health,” was choosen to showcase the rich African beauty and culture.

Samson noted that just like the late Chief Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ransome Kuti, the giant strides of African woman in modern history is worthy of note as everyday woman on the streets, in markets, and households have continued to make bold impacts in the society.

He explained that an African woman is daily faced with enormous challenges on her path to success including worst maternal mortality rate especially in Nigeria, according to a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation report.

He added that the event offers a podium for robust discussion that will lead the African woman to take deserving role in governance and healthcare.

He however said the two speakers were chosen based on their leadership acumen and wealth of experience in healthcare delivery, adding that Mrs. Bello is a leading voice among state governors’ wives who have been championing the cause of girl-child education in Nigeria.
