Mr Yisa Usman, Kogi Coordinator of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that it was faced with shortage of accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres in the state.
Usman made this known while speaking with the newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday, towards the preparation for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Jamb UTME 2019 examination will begin from Thursday, April 11, 2019.
Usman said that though the state was faced with shortage of CBT centres, necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a hitch free exercise.
He said that nine CBT Centres had been accredited in the state, adding that Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras would be used to monitor the examination at the respective centres.
He added that the board would deploy technology to check misconduct of candidates during the 2019 UTME.
“From the entrance of the CBT centres to the Biometric Verification point and everywhere at the venue, CCTV cameras will monitor the exercise.
“Only candidates captured by the biometric verification would be allowed to write the examination,” Usman said.
He therefore warned candidates not to come into the examination centres with electronic devices, wrist watches, pen and biro.
He stated that the reprint of slips would commence across the centres as from April 2, at the rate of N100 only, including the Jamb office Lokoja.
According to Usman, Mock Examination for those who indicated their interest would commence on April 1.
The state coordinator advised candidates to study hard, warning that anyone found indulging in any form of examination misconduct would be sanctioned.
“This year’s examination will consolidate on the innovation by the leadership of the Board to ensure efficient and effective service delivery,” Usman said.
