Kogi Equity Alliance (KEA), a citizen-led civic and development advocacy platform, has commended the renewed grassroots engagement and legislative focus of Distinguished Senator Sunday Steve Karimi following his consultations with constituents across Kogi West Senatorial District.

The Alliance notes that the Senator’s wide-ranging interaction with community leaders from the seven local government areas reflects responsive representation and strengthens democratic participation at the grassroots. Constituents reaffirmed their confidence in his leadership and pledged continued support for effective governance and national stability, including backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.

KEA particularly welcomes Senator Karimi’s emphasis on unity and collaboration among political and community stakeholders, noting his clear rejection of factional politics in favour of collective progress and peace in Kogi West.

On security, the Alliance acknowledges the Senator’s engagement with military authorities in Lokoja and the assurance of imminent troop deployment to Olle-Bunu, Jege, Odo-Ere, Idofin, and Isanlu communities. KEA considers this a critical step toward restoring confidence, safeguarding lives, and stabilising affected areas, while urging sustained civil–military cooperation and community vigilance.

Regarding infrastructure, KEA takes note of the update on the long-awaited Kabba–Egbe road reconstruction. The Alliance urges relevant authorities to expedite the remaining procurement processes and welcomes the Senator’s disclosed ₦3 billion contribution, drawn from constituency resources and additional support, to fast-track the project once approvals are concluded. KEA calls for transparent timelines and periodic public updates to ensure accountability and timely delivery.

As part of its mandate, Kogi Equity Alliance reiterates its commitment to monitoring security deployments, tracking infrastructure milestones, and publishing objective civic scorecards. The Alliance also calls for expanded youth and women-focused empowerment initiatives across Kogi West to consolidate peace and unlock inclusive development.

KEA emphasizes that it operates independently as a citizen platform, supporting public officials strictly on performance, transparency, and outcomes that advance equity, security, and sustainable development for the people of Kogi West.
