Senator Atai Aidoko Ali has described the plans by Kogi state government to establish cattle colonies in the state as an anti-people policy.
Aidoko made this known while declaring the Kogi East stakeholders meeting open in Abuja.
He debunked rumors making rounds that the stakeholder meeting was convened to muster political sympathy ahead of 2019 general elections.
The Federal lawmaker said his vision for convening Kogi East stakeholders meeting was to bring together the ‘who is who’ in Igala and Bassa kingdoms to check the ongoing plans by Kogi state government to enslave the people of the area through the endorsement of cattle colonies and inclusion of fulanis on their traditional councils.
He stated that he will not fold his arms and condone the ongoing plans to decimate and depopulate the people of Kogi East.
“To check mate tyrannical policies ‎and glaring maladministration of the present administration in Kogi, all hands must be on deck to speak and react massively. The proposed anti-people policy will not stand the test of time.
“The unilateral decision to implement the pro-fulani policy is tantamount to re-colonisation and aberration that is alien to the people of Kogi East.
“We are not in support of any policies and programs that will place our people and indigenes at gross disadvantage, particularly the idea of establishing cattle colonies and the satanic inclusion of foreigners in decision making of our people.
“We are all aware of the gimmicks to trigger crises in Kogi East through subtle policies. Our people will not condone this. We are resolute to go beyond mere discussion to action,” he said.
Aidoko ‎said all hands must be on deck and join forces to resist the anti-people policy that is not in tandem with the laws and customs of our people under the guise of creating a peaceful atmosphere.
