Kogi East: Senator Aidoko Partners NDE to Empower 150 Youths

Senator Atai Aidoko Ali has concluded arrangement with National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to ‎train 150 youths and unemployed graduates from the nine local government areas in Kogi East on various skills.
The arrangement was perfected with the state office of the body to bring to the barest minimum the incidences of social vices owing to lack of job for teeming graduates and youths of the area.
Already, names of careful selected beneficiaries have been compiled from the nine local government area of Kogi East senatorial district for the exercise that will attract starter-pack and other ancillary arrangement.
Senator Aidoko stated that the rising cases of criminal activities in the area, particularly the dreadful thriving kidnapping business was occasioned by high rate of unemployment and lack of political will on the part of our leaders.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on SDGs said beneficiaries will be trained in modern artisan business skills that are capable of sustaining the first tranche into self employment on trainee-train basis.
Aidoko said developed countries have moved beyond providing white collar jobs ‎for its teeming unemployed youths but gradually moving to robust entrepreneurship that will lead to self sustenance.
He promised to sustain ‎the laudable program that reverse the gradual collapse of the hitherto robust economic position and activities of the area, stating that the current trend is becoming inimical to the zone’s existence.
The federal lawmaker challenged other representatives to strive to do more in this regard rather than encouraging political thuggery and hooliganism threatening the peace of the area.
