Party politics is totally off point. Integrity is the ultimate search. The ongoing abrakadabra among PDP delegates has poised this letter. To bring to the fore that, as far as Kogi east and by extension the state embraces the current political gimmickry and gibberish, justice is dead and buried. As a matter of fact, let me say this categorically that politics in our dispensation is no longer about the wish of the generality anymore but of clothed elements in Naira Ghana-must-go bags.
The so called automatic ticket saga rocking PDP is a clear indication that the party is yet to wake up from it’s slumbers and unless the needful is done fast the second falling is imminent. It’s no longer news that senator Attai Aidoko Usman Ali has siphoned the party’s Senatorial tickets. A move which justified high level of ignorance of our leaders over people’s plights. If senator Dino Melaye is given automatic ticket, we can understand. If the senator from Kogi central is awarded same, we can understand. At least, these guys have strikes Legislatively to the knowledge of all Nigerians. Their impact is also visibly felt in their various constituency.
But for senator Aidoko, the lyrics never change. Even the community, Ugbamaka Igah in Olamaboro, where he hails from are the major victim of this circumstance. To make a common phone call in Ugbamaka, you would have to climb a hill as if one is searching for gold. The 15 boreholes he claimed to have drilled in eleven years is not seen anywhere let alone constructing one in his home town. No health Care system. Pupils in the community primary school now learns under the tree.
Most disgusting of all, Ugbamaka Igah has just a stream which is located four kilometers away from the community. So to meet up with this indispensable needs, residents would have to do a four kilometers walk exercise to the stream after the usual daily farm works.
These among others is why the residents are crying fowl over a betrayed trust.
Anyone aggrieved by this write up should go to Igah Ugbamaka and prove me wrong. I have been there and to be honest, I could not hold back my tears when residents narrated their ordeal. So of what importance is a leader who recline in Abuja after been elected till the next four years? One of the residents said and I quote “Aidoko comes here only in the night and disappear before dawn so we won’t see him to tender our complaints. But once it is a season of election he will be seen everywhere promising heaven and Earth.”
This same person PDP delighted in awarding its ticket. Aidoko was said to have boasted at a point that power belongs to those who have money. This means the poor and just are not created to lead.
Again ….justice has been slaughtered on the alter of mischief…
To deny the people certain rights is a crime against their existence and sense of belonging. I want to believe that the ongoing sinister plans are not perpetrated by the common masses. But by those who’s sense of responsibility is beclouded with greed and selfishness.
Honor they say is bestowed on whom it’s due. Aidoko is indeed a game changer. He has succeeded in bringing both the Nigeria judiciary and PDP Kogi into doing his subsequent political biddings. Shockingly, the party’s most respected father and former governor Ibrahim Idris as well as his in-law (Wada) were helpless. I just hope they realize the gravity of such insult on their hard earned reputation and do the needful soon.
Be that as it may, PDP (Kogi East) has committed an offence liable of prosecution. It knows it wouldn’t conduct primaries for aspirants vying for elective position on it’s platform. Yet, nomination forms were expensively sold to them. I will personally institute legal actions against them if aspirants fail to do so.
However, salvaging the land from total ruination is a task that must be done. The eleven years of non stop political and socio-economic quagmire must be stopped. From all indications, people with genuine desire to serve have been sidelined and to the greedy and self-centered elements, living by people’s misery and despair is top priority. But we have the right to say no by uncovering the buried justice. I stand to be quoted wrong. Aidoko is not familiar with the people and cannot offer anything other than continuous acquisition of ostentation. We must unite against the odds. Speak one voice and compel party bigwigs and politicians into doing our bidding.
A credible candidate would serve as mouth piece for this mission and to achieve this, fresh aspirants must be sought for. We must avoid party politics and primitive political ideology. Most importantly, APC and PDP must be clearly avoided.
I have done my quota. God and the host of heavens can take over the rest.
God bless Igala/Bassa.
