The senate, on Tuesday, refused to swear in Air Marshal Isaac Mohammed Alfa(rtd) who stormed the National Assembly hoping for his inauguration following the verdict of the Federal High Court.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on June 13, ordered the removal of the representative of Kogi East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Atai Aidoko and ordered the immediate swearing in of Air Marshall Isaac Alfa (rtd).

On the strength of the judgement by Justice Gabriel Kolawole, Isaac Alfa stormed the red chamber along with his supporters and retinue of military orderly.

Alfa, who hanged around the entrance to the office of the Senate President Bukola Saraki could not join other lawmakers for plenary.

There were strong indications that the Senate had resolved to stay action on Kogi East Senate seat pending the determination of the suits filed by Senator Atai Aidoko Ali and his party, PDP. Aidoko and the PDP has filed separate suits restraining all parties from taking any action pending the determination of the matter at the courts.

While Aidoko sat with other Senators in plenary, Alfa had to leave the National Assembly complex with his supporters.
