A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial aspirant for Kogi East, Hajia Halima Alfa has disclosed that Kogi East Senatorial District has not witnessed quality representation at National Assembly in the last 16 years.
Addressing newsmen at the Party Secretariat in Lokoja on Tuesday, Alfa said there is urgent need to present a credible candidate for Senatorial seat in 2019 general election. She added that there is nothing concrete to show for 16 years of national representation in Igala land.
Hajia Alfa who was in Party Secretariat for screening and submission of her nomination form for the senatorial seat, pointed out that what they have succeeded in doing was breeding of thugs and armed the youths in Igala land with guns.

She lamented that in terms of attracting infrastructural development to the area has suffered neglect following the paucity of quality representation.
The former commissioner explained that she has always contesting for the senatorial seat, stressing that she robbed of her victory through the help of some dubious party leaders.
Alfa claimed she won the 2014 PDP senatorial primaries at Idah, noting that the incumbent senator who has never won election in the past came to disrupt the process and they rigged the election his favour.
She added that measures have been put in place to avoid the repeat of last episode of 2014 PDP primaries in Kogi State.
She pledged to give a qualitative representation ,adding that with her connection and readiness to lobby others to attract development to Igala land in all ramifications.
