I read the rejoinder published by Aidoko Campaign Organisation’s spokesman, Abubakar Yusuf, and I can’t help but wonder where some of our people place their conscience when they engage people in public discourse. As worthless to the need and aspiration of the people and irresponsible in politics as Aidoko is, not only in Igala land but also on the floor of the Senate, I never believed any man in his sane mind would ever stand up to defend him. Birds of a feather will always flock together.
It is on the lips of every Igala son and daughter that the worst senator that ever represents Kogi East within living memory is Attai Aidoko. Not only has Aidoko abandoned his own people, but he has also without meanest conscience abandoned his own community. A lot of things have been happening in Igala land, and many well-meaning sons and daughters of Igala land have been rallying round the people to see how well they can give their support. But Aidoko is not one that gives moral, financial or political support.
Aidoko never had any record of human and capital development, and while in politics, he has no record of any representation that is beneficial to the people delivered. He is amassing wealth, and he is greedily using same at the detriment of the social and economic development of Igala/Bassa land.
The spokesman shamelessly listed Aidoko’s achievements to include “providing mobility, by donations of high class Toyota Camry cars to party leaders,aside paying salaries of party echelon and provision of running cost to the party both at the ward,local government and state level.”
So from the tiny brains of this spokesman, if an average Igala man is not a party leader, not part of the party echelon and is not a member of the party at any level altogether, he is not supposed to benefit from what law Aidoko makes at the Senate in the interest of Igala land?
These lines have clearly defined the place Aidoko puts Igala people, and the prejudice with which he holds them. A conditional supplier of goodies, it is only when it concerns his aspirations and desires that he feels the need to meet the desire of those he wishes to benefit from. Because of the problem he helps to create, Aidoko, a political lecher, has turned Igala land to a brothel where he can pay his dues just to satisfy his lecherous political lust.If Aidoko’s representation is to give cars and pay party echelons and members, then he is the worst of any leader we have ever seen and known.
Similarly, it is an abuse of mandate for a Senator that claims to represent Igala/Bassa land to draw his inspirations from the political journeys of other people such as “Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe, Mallam Aminu Kano, Former President Shehu Shagari and Dr Tunji Braithwaite.” Aidoko can never claim to draw his inspirations from these men because these men paid their dues and laid solid political foundation for many generations even unborn.
No matter how much a liar tries to sell his wares, the buyers who have him in the palm of their hands will always take him with the pinch of salt.
When one compares what Echocho, the most viable and veritable Igala son that has the love of the people at heart can do and what Aidoko can do, one will be left with no option but to choose Echocho in place of a tepid Senator Attai Ali Aidoko who has been serving himself and his greed.
We have chosen to say no to Aidoko regardless of the number of cars he shared and the amount of money he gave out to his party men.
