Kogi East Elders Council (KEEC) has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the recent appointment of Major General Waidi Shaibu, an Army Officer with distinguished service records from Kogi East senatorial district, as the Chief of Army Staff.
In a letter addressed to Tinubu, KEEC noted with appreciation the President’s contributions to the Kogi East people since his ascension to the office.
The council said there is no doubt that this strategic appointment will once again positively impact the people of Kogi East in particular, and Nigeria, in general, given the security challenges the nation face and the new COAS’ proven track record as a security professional.
The letter signed by Professor Godwin Ogbadu and Chief Dr Rekiya Momoh- Abaji, Chairman and Secretary- General respectively, KEEC also expressed delight in the recent appointment of Princess Eke Audu Abubakar as the Executive Director at NEMSA.
“Please be assured, Your Excellency, of our continued cooperation and support as you lead Nigeria out of the present economic, political, and security challenges. We pray for the success of your administration,” the letter read.
The Kogi East Elders Council was established by His Royal Majesty the Ata-Igala to function as an Advisory Body. The association has since inception been vocal and giving direction to the Igala populace on various issues relating to the social, political, economic wellbeing and security of Kogi East Senatorial district in particular, and Kogi State in general.
