A socio-cultural group, Iyara Development Association (IDA) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has congratulated an illustrious son of the community, Toks Omoniwa, on the recent award of Digital Engineer of the Year recently conferred on him at a global event in Texas.
Omoniwa bagged the Digital Engineer of the Year Award at the 2nd annual awards event, co-hosted by ISG, L&T Technology Services, and CNBC-TV18.
He is a Subsea Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert at Chevron, helping to revolutionize the digitalization of early-concept and front-end engineering design for deepwater offshore developments with DigiSubsea, a subsea design twin product that optimizes and automates subsea field architectures and equipment configurations by leveraging machine learning and other digital technologies.
The tool, according to reports, is significantly reducing concept development timelines and upfront costs, leading to faster delivery of feasible concepts.
It has been integrated into Chevron’s field development planning business process. Toks’ solution offers a comprehensive view of project value and performance.
Toks has over 25 years of experience and demonstrated success with deepwater technologies and is a digital transformation leader in the field of subsea engineering for oil and gas fields in deepwater offshore acreages.
Reacting to the honour, the National President of Iyara Development Association, Alh. Aliyu Badaki said the community received the news of the award with great joy, describing the feat as well deserved, exemplary and unprecedented.
