Kogi Community Calls for Help as Gunmen Abducts Retired Civil Servant

The people of Iyara community in Ijumu local government area of Kogi state have called for help as unknown gunmen kidnap a retired civil servant with Kogi state government, Mr. Adekunle Ola.

According to a statement signed by Alhaji Aliyu Badaki, National President Iyara Development Association (IDA), the retired civil servant was abducted by gunmen numbering 10 at his residence on Wednesday night and taken to the bush.

This is coming less than one year that the Chief Imam of the community, Sheikh Kasim Musa was kidnapped at his Ilukpa Residence in March last year.

While condemning the reoccurring attacks on Iyara, the headquarters of Ijumu LGA, the association called on security agencies to fish out the perpetrators.

He called on people of the community to remain calm and not take laws into their hands but allow security agencies to do their job.
