Kogi CJ Commends Julitola International School for Students’ Early Exposure to Various Professions

Hon. Justice Josiah Joe Majebi, the Chief Judge of Kogi State, has praised the management of the
Julitola International School located near the Judiciary headquarters at Crusher in Lokoja, the state capital, for exposing its students early enough, to different professions through practical knowledge impacting and career counselling.

The CJ gave the commendation when the proprietor and CEO/chairman of the School, Mr. Ajayi Julius Bamidele, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge at the judiciary headquarters in yesterday.

The visit was attended by senior judges of the High Court sitting at the headquarters, including Justice A. N. Awulu, Justice M. E. Umar, Justice E. O. Salihu and Justice M. M. Gwatana.

Also present were Management members led by Hon. Jubrin Oladimeji Ibrahim, the Chief Registrar, and Dr. Mohammed Tanko, Secretary to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

In his remarks, Mr. A. J Bamidele expressed gratitude to the Chief Judge for receiving the delegation and commended the judiciary’s continued support.

He recalled the previous goodwill extended by the judiciary, including an earlier occasion when the Chief Judge received students of Julitola School and ceremonially robed the school’s student Chief Judge.

Highlighting the school’s remarkable growth since its inception, Mr. Bamidele noted its expansion from just three students to over 300.

He disclosed that the school recently received commendations from the Federal Ministry of Education following an unscheduled inspection, attributing its success to a firm commitment to modern education standards and moral discipline.

In response, Hon. Justice Majebi appreciated the school’s gesture and acknowledged its steady progress.

He emphasized the vital role of quality education in shaping children’s character and future, sharing a personal anecdote about his childhood ambition to become a Grade 2 headmaster, a choice influenced by limited career orientation during his formative years. He stressed the need for structured programs to guide students toward diverse career options and commended Julitola School for exposing its students to practical knowledge across various professions.

Also speaking at the event, Justice Umar Etsu lauded the CEO’s dedication and sacrifice in establishing the school within the local community despite the lure of greater economic opportunities in larger cities.

He assured the school of the judiciary’s support, citing the Chief Judge’s unwavering commitment to quality education in the state.

As part of the visit, Mr. Bamidele presented two formal letters to Justice Majebi, one expressing appreciation and another inviting him to Julitola School’s upcoming anniversary celebration scheduled for September.

He also gifted the Chief Judge a collection of magazines produced by the students, showcasing their creative talents and academic achievements.

The visit was widely regarded as a meaningful expression of goodwill and mutual appreciation, underscoring the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and government agencies in fostering community development.
