No fewer than one hundred and fifty (150) ICT instructors have been trained in the ongoing Cyber security training organised and bankrolled by the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Yakubu Oseni.

The training which is being executed by Advance Cisco Network and Wireless Communication Company is one of the legacy empowerment schemes of the lawmaker who had vowed to change  the tides of representation at the National Assembly through people-centred programmes.

Representative of Advance Cisco Network and Wireless Communication Company while presenting weekly briefing to Senator Oseni noted that the instructors who were drawn from the five local government areas of Kogi Central Senatorial District, would be empowered to effectively transfer the skills they have acquired to other people in their various domains.

Senator Oseni while reacting to the progress reports presented by the ICT consultant few weeks after the commencement of the training, stressed that the youths of Kogi Central Senatorial District are specially endowed with the ability to engage their minds and hands in creative ventures, saying that they only needed opportunity and encouragement to launch themselves into the world of ICT.

The lawmaker who lauded the positive multiplier effect of the training when concluded further emphasised that women and youths empowerment remain pivotal in his legislative engagement at the National Assembly.

He however urged the ICT consultant not to be deterred in the face of any challenge on the field, just as he appealed to the ICT consultant,  people of Kogi Central Senatorial District to give the consultant and trainees necessary support in order to achieve the desired objectives of the training.
It would be recalled that Senator Yakubu Oseni had risen to the top of the legislative position of Kogi Central District with a popular mandate in 2019.

Despite being a first term Senator, he was drafted by the leadership of the Senate to preside over one of the most sensitive Senate Committees (Senate Committee on ICT/Cyber crime) as a result of his wealth of experience in the public service before joining politics.

He had since after inauguration as a Senator, facilitated employment opportunities for his constituents, rehabilitating roads, distributing educational kits, renovating schools and several other people-centred projects across the five local government areas of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
