Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/ Cybercrime, Dr Yakubu Oseni has received the recommendations of stakeholders, opinion leaders and constituents from the five local government areas of his constituency on the practical ways of resolving some age long developmental challenges in their domains.

The lawmaker who on assumption of office has promised to devolve his legislative duties to the local areas, commissioned a group of ten seasoned technocrats to traverse the nooks and crannies of Kogi Central in order to feel their pulse on salient developmental issues.

Their recommendations, which according to Senator Oseni, would serve as an addendum to the Feasible-plans in his well-publicised manifesto during the electioneering campaign, and also meant to provide a short term framework to immediately enliven the erstwhile neglected issues across Kogi Central.

Presenting the recommendations today, the chairman of the G10, Mr. Abubakar Obori who was assisted by the patron, Alhaji Salihu Sule disclosed that the 10 agenda were painstakingly generated from the yearnings of the people across the Senatorial district.

Mr Obori who on behalf of the group members appreciated the lawmaker for counting them worthy of the assignment, expressed optimism that the recommendations if implemented, would leave positive and lasting impressions on the people.

Responding, Dr Oseni who disclosed some of the recommendations of the group have been captured in his long term development for the constituency said he was not expecting anything less than what was submitted.

He further reiterated his resolve to implement the recommendations, adding that God in His infinite mercy and the lovable people of Kogi Central gave him the mandate to create a positive departure from what used to be obtainable in the past.

“What belongs to you will be given to you. Your interest will continue to be protected in the National Assembly all the time,” he said.

Meanwhile, the lawmaker used the occasion to adopt Senator Yakubu Oseni (SYO) as his official name. This is to avoid divergent titles being a man who has cut his teeth in the banking industry, Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (as Executive Chairman and Tax Administrator) and ‘Alhaji’ as a title from his obedience to one of the pillars of Islam.
