Now that Kogi Central has regained its voice after a six-month suspension, many constituents remain uncertain about the direction of our representation. The controversies that brought embarrassment to Kogi Central have not disappeared, and theatrics continue to overshadow genuine legislative engagement.

Kogi Central has always been known for dignified, focused, and responsible representation. Leaders like Senator A.T. Ahmed, Senator Ohize, Senator Abatemi, Senator Ogembe, Senator Yakubu Oseni, and Distinguished Senator Abubakar Ohere upheld our values with honour, maturity, and deep respect for the institution of the Senate.

Today, that respected image is still at risk.

As we look toward 2027, one thing stands out clearly:
Kogi Central needs stability, competence, and development-driven leadership – leaders who understand the true essence of lawmaking and can craft impactful policies that strengthen development, education, infrastructure, and security, extending beyond mere street-level empowerment.

This is why Distinguished Senator Abubakar Ohere remains the most credible and dependable choice for the Senate in 2027.

His records of achievement are there and speak for themselves

Even within a short period at the Red Chamber, Senator Ohere demonstrated what mature, development-focused representation looks like.

He sponsored and supported motions focused on national security and community safety, leveraging his position as the chairman of the committee on local content.

Contributed actively to committee deliberations with depth and clarity.

Built strong alliances across party lines, alliances crucial for delivering constituency projects.

Attracted infrastructure-related considerations for Kogi Central through strategic engagements.

Earned respect for his calm, intelligent, and non-confrontational style. Qualities that open doors rather than shutting them & building bridges.

His brief service period showed clearly that leadership is not about noise but about value, relationships, and strategic positioning.

During his office as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs:

He resolved long-standing chieftaincy disputes that had divided communities for years.

Strengthened traditional institutions and enhanced the authority of royal fathers.

Improved grassroots welfare through stable, transparent local governance systems.

Coordinated community-based security structures that reduced local conflicts.

Also, as Commissioner for Works:

Delivered and supervised hundreds of kilometres of quality roads across Kogi State.

Played a strategic role in the establishment of the Reference Hospital, Okene, now a model in Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.

Supported infrastructural development that strengthened the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH). A world-class institution Kogi Central is proud to host.

Facilitated and built the road rehabilitation, bridge, and major drainage systems that transformed movement and commerce across most communities.

Ensured strict monitoring and high-quality delivery of every state project under his watch.

These achievements are real, visible, and continue to serve our people every day.

The Road to 2027

What Kogi Central needs is not drama.
Not sensationalism.
Not needless confrontations.

We need representation that brings development, respect, and meaningful progress, the kind of leadership that elevates our district instead of dragging it into avoidable controversies.

Distinguished Senator Abubakar Ohere has done it before.
He can do even more in 2027.

Kogi Central deserves leadership that builds, not distracts.
Leadership grounded in experience, maturity, and proven results.

Let’s do it again, but this time, better!
