One of the strong contenders in the Kogi Central senatorial race under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dist Ismaila Haruna Dankogi has withdrawn from the race and throw his weight behind the former Kogi governorship candidate, Chief Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan.
This was made known during an interactive session with party stalwarts and senatorial aspirants where Dist. Dankogi affirmed his decision to withdraw from the race and indicated support for his preferred candidate in person of Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan.
“He will be unveiling his support for his preferred candidate, Barr Natasha Hadiza Akpoti as a next line of position towards the successful winning of the party in the general election”, a report of the session read in part.
Stakeholders at the session which include two former deputy governors; His Excellency Patrick Adaba and His Excellency Philips Salawu, commended Dankogi’s decision and noted his courage and high level of intelligence.
