The Director General of Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kogi State, Kingsley Fanwo has urged security agencies in the state to fish out the murderers of Yahaya Umar, a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Fielding questions from reporters in Lokoja on Sunday, Fanwo said such heinous act is “unacceptable in the present day Kogi State”.
According to Fanwo, the late Yahaya Umar was not a thug as widely reported by the “pricey media organizations in their desperate move to cover the truth.
“It is unfortunate that some heartless individuals could play politics with human life. Yahaya resisted attempts by some thugs to snatch ballot boxes after their sponsors suspected many of the voters were in support of the APC. Unfortunately, Yahaya was killed in the process.
“We made this known to the world before the election that some former leaders of the state imported thugs from Nasarawa and Bayelsa States to disrupt the election. Our fears have been confirmed.
“The haste to use the media to twist the fact is unfortunate and cannot hide the facts forever. The murder of Yahaya has painted a dark spot on the sweet victory of our great party”.
