A Kogi State-born Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) advocate and climate justice champion, Abdulrasheed Mubarak, has been appointed as the National Secretary of the SDGs National Students Council under the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement.
The appointment was disclosed in an official statement released in Abuja on Friday by the National Coordinator of the Council, Ambassador Timothy Nwachukwu.
Abdulrasheed, a recent graduate of Law from Bayero University, Kano, is renowned for his leadership in youth development, environmental advocacy, and his unwavering dedication to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over the years, he has been actively involved in climate action initiatives and community-based development projects across Nigeria.
His appointment under the chairmanship of Comrade Sunday Asefon, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, has been described as a step in the right direction towards mobilizing young people for sustainable impact.
