Senator Sunday Karimi (APC-Kogi West) has made good his promise by releasing the sum of N10m he pledged as support to the people of boat mishap in Embwa, a Kupa community in Lokoja local government.
Following the boat mishap that led to the death of several persons in Embwa, Senator Karimi who visited to commiserate with the people of Kupa Community, pledged the sum of N10million to support affected victims.
The Senator, while releasing the money to the affected persons on Monday, also paid another N6m for completion of Pakuta Bridge in Ijumu LGA.
Recall that the Pakuta bridge links three local government areas of Kabba-Bunu, Ijumu and Lokoja to Niger State.
The Pakuta Bridge links Aiyegunle Gbede in Ijumu local government to Kiri Kingdom in Kabba-Bunu LGA, Kupa North and South including Eggan communities in Lokoja local government.
Senator Karimi had earlier released the sum of N17m for the reconstruction of the bridge. With the release of the N6m, brings his support to reconstruct the Pakuta bridge to N23m.
The Senator assured the people Kogi West of his continued support through quality representation and other support that would impact on their well-being.
