The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, has congratulated the immediate past Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on the occasion of his 50th birthday.
The Speaker, in a statement signed and made available to journalists by his Chief Press Secretary, Yabagi Mohammed, described Bello as a revolutionary leader, who is passionate about the state’s development.
He noted that as a Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello ensured total overhaul of all sectors in the state and ensured equitable distribution of development in both human and material resources the state is endowed with.
Rt Hon Umar, who particularly mentioned the decision of the former administration to ensured the inclusion of youths and women in governance in an aggressive manner, noted that the policy established a new paradigm in the in the political involvement of the demography like never seen before in Nigeria’s recent political history.
He particularly applauded the former Governor for his bravery in the decisions he made for the good of the state and the commitment to pushing through his policies, which are beginning to better the lot of the citizens.
He said the collaborative efforts of the former Governor with the assembly, which succeeded in the creation agencies, commissions and borards, has resulted in the emergence of vehicles for employment generation, improved infrastructure and economic diversification for Kogi state.
The Speake noted that his views of the former Governor resonate with every member of the Assembly, and prayed to Allah for good health, long life and prosperity for Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and for the Almighty God to grant his heart’s desires.
