Kogi Assembly Speaker Mourns Late Chief Erico at Burial, Lauds His Legacy

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has joined several others to bid goodbye to deceased nonagenarian and elder statesman, Chief Ameh Erico in Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government Area.

A press statement signed and made available to the media by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Yabagi Mohammed, quoted Rt Hon Umar to have stated this on Saturday at the burial ceremony of the former musical icon and trado-medical professional.

It noted that Rt Hon Umar, who was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Comfort Ojoma Nwuchiola and other members of the Assembly, described the deceased as a man of worthy legacy.

The statement further said the Speaker noted that the legacy of the man can be seen in the conduct of his children, grand children and great grand children, noting that it was worthy of emulation.

The death of the nonagenarian and the overflow of tributes, the Speaker noted, demonstrated the fact that late Chief Erico lived a fulfilled life, adding that his departure is only to rest in the bosom of God Almighty.

He called on the family not to be downcast over the development, but that they should rejoice in view of the beautiful testimonies that filled the air about the conducts the patriarch at the burial ceremony.

Other members of the Assembly also expressed sadness about the death of Chief Erico and wished him eternal rest in heaven.
