Majority Leader of Kogi House of Assembly, Alhaji Yakubu Yunusa has donated medical equipment and consumables worth millions of Naira to three hospitals in Ofu Local Government of the state.
Presenting the medical equipment to Holley Memorial Hospital, Ochadamu last week, Yunusa said the items were procured and shipped into the country from the United States of America (USA).
Yunusa said donation of the items to General Hospital, Ugwolawo; Itobe Cottage Hospital and Holley Memorial Hospital, were part of his modest contributions to healthcare delivery and service to the people.
Yunusa who also made monetary donations and 10 bags of rice to the the Leprosy Centre at Ochadamu said no sacrifice was too much to make for healthy living and general welfare of the people especially, those in need.
He promised to attract government attention to the mission hospital for more Assistance in the area of medical equipment and personnel.
The legislator who also represents Ofu Constituency at the state legislative assembly equally pledged to work for the quick passage of the proposed bill for the establishment of Ochadamu School of Nursing and Midwifery.
Rev. Akoh Abraham, the Administrator of the hospital, in his response, commended the legislator for his magnanimity, especially for the donation of the medical equipment and consumables and expressed the appreciation of the management of the facility was full of appreciation.
Abraham also seized the opportunity to thank the state governor, Capt. Idris Wada for his support to the hospital and other people oriented projects executed by the state government.
The Administrator solicited the support of Yunusa in fast-tracking the submission and passage of the bill for the establishment of the school of Nursing and Miwifery soon to be presented to the house.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the items donated by the House Majority Leader Include beddings and bednets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), methylated spirit among many others.
