The House of Representatives on Tuesday constituted a high powered fact-finding committee to probe the crisis rocking the Kogi State House of Assembly with a view to restoring sanity to the assembly.

This is coming on the heels of purported impeachment of Speaker Jimoh Lawal and other principal officers of the

House by a group of five lawmakers said to be enjoying the support of the state governor, Yahaya Bello.

The resolution of the House followed the adoption of a motion on the matter under urgent national importance sponsored by Hon. Sunday Karimi and endorsed by all lawmakers from Kogi State.

The committee is headed by the deputy whip of the House, Hon. Pally Iriase and it has one week to submit its report to the House at plenary.
